Project |01 What are the Factors that Influence Successful Students?

One of my main research interests is what motivational, environmental, and genetic factors influence learning, cognition, and performance in academic settings. Can low-performing students develop self-regulatory skills? Do post-secondary honors programs provide an effective learning environment for high-ability students?
Project |02 Do We Have a Tendency to Suppress Creativity?

Research indicates that working groups tend to percieve individuals with novel ideas as "deviant" and maladaptive in maintaining the status quo. Does this attitude lead to a suppression of creative expression? Do more of us possess creative abilities than we believe? How can we nurture creativity and reduce the stigma associated with its expression?
Project |03 Does our Native Language Influence our Attributions?

Recent research indicates that agentive (e.g., English) and non-agentive (e.g., Spanish) languages may influence cognition in unique ways. Could agentive and non-agentive language patterns moderate the relationship between attributional style and academic outcomes?
